Status Resistance

Hello Guys,

I’m AKA and today I have brought you guys a new topic that is ‘Status Resistance’.  In the previous posts we discussed different type of status effect like Hex, Stun, Silence etc. So, the question comes how to get immune to it and if not immune how to reduce its effect.

So, for that information you guys have to read this post very carefully. The best way to avoid stun or any other status effect is to make Black King Bar (BKB). As most of the spells does not pierce spell immunity but then also there are abilities and items like Pudge (Dissembler), Medusa (Stone Gaze), Skull Basher (Item), Abyssal Blade (Item) etc. which pierces spell immunity.

Now question arrives that we cannot make first item BKB so how to prevent ourselves from the status effect? The answer is making item that gives you status resistance. There are some abilities of hero like Ursa (Enrage) when activated gives you status resistance.

Items like Sange, Sange & Yasha, Heaven Halberd etc. gives hero status resistance. Now a new question arrives how does status resistance help you. So, let me explain you guys how status resistance works in detail

Status resistance reduces the duration of the status effect. Let’s take a example assume you are Drow Ranger and enemy have heroes like Lion, Dragon Knight etc. So, they can kill you in chain stun. Chain stun will be explained in upcoming post. So, in that case you make Sange & Yasha item which gives you 25% of status resistance. This means if lion stuns you and assume the duration of the stun is 1 sec just because you have 25% status resistance you will be stunned for only 0.75 sec. So, in this way you reduced the stun duration by 25%.

In this way you can stay in fight alive and help your team. Item that gives status resistance can stack. So, more Status resistance you have the less duration you will be under negative status effect.

In this way either picking heroes with abilities related to status resistance or to make item that gives you status resistance. But for carry heroes Sange & Yasha and BKB are important.

Note :- Every hero in dota 2 game starts with 0 status resistance (unless if he takes abilities related to status resistance).

Shadow Blade or Glimmer Cape

Hello Guys, I’m AKA and today I have brought you guys a new topic that is ‘ Shadow Blade or Glimmer Cape ’. As we discussed some items are categories based on the roles like carry and support. As we first consider glimmer cape this is something a support player goes so that on ganking him he has something to escape. The good part of glimmer cape is that it cast during channeling which means spells like freezing field, black hole, death ward etc. Some time what happens is enemy hero does not have dust and when you cast your channeling spell that there are chances you might get a kill. Status Effect :- Root

Hello Guys, I’m AKA and today I have brought you guys a new status effect which is ‘ Root ’. It is a very simple concept with respect to other status effect we discussed. So, in a root enemy hero cannot move or use any abilities or item that contribute in movement. Root :- So, the above image is just a representation of the of root. Heroes like Meepo, Naga Siren, Oracle etc. have abilities which can root enemy hero. Unlike other status effect in root, you can attack but you cannot move or use abilities that relates to movement of the hero. So, it is a good way of keeping enemy hero in place and attack them. It is very easy to dispel root. Items like BKB, Manta Style, Guardian Greaves etc. can be used to dispel root. It is a good way to initiate a fight let’s take an example of it.
